Behind the pink curtain

Trois ans après l'édition anglaise parue chez Fab Press, l'éditeur français Le Lézard Noir, spécialisé dans le manga et la pop culture japonaise, dévoile sur son site internet la couverture de l'édition française du livre culte de Jasper Sharp, Behind the pink Curtain (que l'on peut traduire par Derrière le rideau rose). Ce livre de plus de 400 pages retraçait toute l'histoire du film érotique japonais appelé Roman Porno ou Pinku Eiga.
Longtemps annoncé sur le planning du Lézard Noir, l'amateur sera comblé de voir venir ce livre se rajouter au non moins indispensable Le cinéma enragé au Japon et Koji Wakamatsu, cinéaste de la révolte.



A l'heure ou nous écrivons ces lignes, nous ne savons pas encore si il s'agit d'une simple traduction ou d'une version augmenté, et aucune date de sortie est annoncée. En revanche nous pouvons vous en dire plus sur l'auteur et sur l'ouvrage anglais.

Jasper Sharp est un écrivain et curateur de films britannique. Il co-édite le site web Midnight Eye, première source sur le cinéma japonais en langue anglaise, qu'il a fondé en 2001 en compagnie de Tom Mes. Il dirige Zipangu Fest, premier festival britannique consacré aux films nippon, ainsi que the Shinsedai New Generation Japanese Film Festival de Toronto (avec Chris Magee).

Les plus observateurs auront remarqué une différence dans le nom du livre. En effet sur la couverture le mot curtains est au pluriel alors que le nom original est au singulier. Peut-être une simple coquille ?
